Announced at the River Club in Cape Town earlier this week, Productivity SA acknowledged and celebrated organisations in the Western Cape, who are making significant contributions towards making South Africa a productive country.

High-school learners are Edutained at College Open Day

As the busses pulled up and the school learners bounced out at all five College Campuses, it was evident that this Open Day would top those previously hosted by the College.

Inaugural Career Festival

Western and Northern Cape Regions hosted the first two of three Career Festivals as part of TVET month, on 21 and 22 of August.
The Western Cape region recruited potential employers, 1 000 exit level students from 5 Western Cape TVET Colleges and 900 school learners from the communities that the TVET Colleges serve.

A revolution, one weld at a time

A gender revolution has begun in what were exclusively male industries, led by a still-tiny vanguard of women artisans produced by South Africa’s TVET College system.
It’s pretty much a given that any schoolgirl (or schoolboy) asked to describe a  ‘boilermaker’ or ‘shipbuilder’ will not imagine anyone remotely like Lee-Anne Andrews or Candra Pedro, but this is destined to change if they have anything to do with it. And it’s not just because gender prejudice and stereotypes have no place in our democracy.

Embracing the principles of MOT

False Bay TVET College is an active participant in the MOT Programme.  This is a programme that originated in Norway and aims to give students certain tools to help them develop into strong and resilient members of society.  Students undergo MOT Sessions where valuable life skills are shared with the students.  The Vision of MOT is to create a warmer and safer society.  False Bay College has run the MOT programme across all campuses to give students the extra skills to manage themselves and their interactions with other.  The values of the MOT programme are Courage to LIVE, Courage to CARE and Courage to say NO.
