NC(V) programmes are delivered under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training and quality assured by Umalusi. The programmes integrate theory and practice and provide students with a broad range of knowledge and practical skills within specific industry fields.

NATED / Report 191 programmes are delivered under the auspices of the Department of Higher Education and Training and quality assured by Umalusi. The programmes consist of 18 months theoretical studies at colleges and 18 months relevant practical application in work places. Engineering studies range from N1 – N6 while Business and Utility Studies range from N4 – N6

3 Years (1 year per level)

3 Years (18 months theoretical studies + 18 months workplace application) for N4 – N6 Business and Utility Studies

Qualification:

 Full Certificates on NQF Level 2, 3 and 4
NC(V) Level 4 Certificate is equivalent to National Senior Certificate (matric)

Qualification:

N6 Diploma

Grade 9 + college requirements set per programme

Accelerated Reader Intervention Programme

Illiteracy is one of the major challenges that African countries grapple with and South Africa is no exception. In 2016 South Africa was ranked last in the International Reading Literacy Study (Pirls) survey. The study found that 78% of South African pupils at Grade 4 could not read for meaning. That percentage is high and increases the chances significantly that the number of learners progressing to the next grades without mastering literacy skills is increasingly likely.

Students to compete at National World Skills Programme

Public TVET College students, private college students and industry apprentices from across the Province will be competing at the World Skills National Competition in Durban, South Africa, come February 2019. 
All student’s competing will contend for the honour to represent South Africa at the 45th International World Skills Competition scheduled to be held at the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Centre in Kazan, Russia in August 2019. The competition will bring together competitors from more than 70 countries who will compete in over 50 skills.

Dignity Day Community Outreach

Inspired by World Homelessness Day, an annual global initiative, Revamp the Valley, Social Work Connect, and False Bay TVET College’s staff and students hosted Dignity Day.
The event organisers placed an editorial, in the community papers of Fish Hoek, Cape Town, appealing to residents and businesses to participate and donate.
