Coronavirus (Covid-19)
As per the public announcement and directive of our President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday 16th March and that of our National Minister of Higher Education Science and Technology, Minister Nzimande on Tuesday 17 March, in relation to COVID-19, we wish to advise of the following precautionary measures that False Bay College has taken to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and staff, in support of the steps to prevent the spread of the virus.

Academic programme
The college has suspended all full time and part time academic activities. Students have been granted an extended recess from Wednesday 18 March to Wednesday 15 April 2020. Academic staff have also been granted extended recess from Wednesday 18 March and will return to college on Tuesday 14 April 2020. Academic staff may be requested to sacrifice their holidays later in the year to catch up on time lost.

While academic staff will be in contact with students through various communication channels to support their self-study in this period, students are reminded to take responsibility for their learning during this time. All internal assessments are postponed till a later date.
Students will have access to MyFBC, our learning management system to access past examination papers and other learning material.
Students are encouraged to structure their day so as to allocate at least four hours daily to their academic work over the next month. Distance Learning students will access content via the normal online platforms.

Trimester examination
All trimester exams have been postponed until we receive confirmed dates from the Department of Higher Education.
Academic Awards Ceremony (15 May 2020)
The academic awards ceremony has been postponed until further notice . We will keep all qualifying students updated as soon as a new date is confirmed.
