Work Integrated Learning

False Bay TVET College is mandated by the Department of Higher Education & Training (DHET) to assists students in seeking workplaces to gain relevant working experience. The WIL department engages with Industry to establish partnerships for internships and workplace-based learning opportunities for students and graduates.

WIL represents a tripartite relationship between the College, the student and the host employer. The student then applies their theoretical training obtained at the College to a real-life working environment provided by the host employer.

• Provide the opportunity to evaluate and retain interns for workforce pipeline;
• The opportunity to save on recruitment costs;
• Increased turnover because of productive and highly skilled workers;
• Highly motivated, creative and innovative workforce, because of increased levels of skills and participation in the success of the company;
• Participate in the preparation of future industry professionals in line with industry standards;
• Partner with FBC to bridge the gap and align education and industry
• Opportunity to apply for discretionary grant funding for learnerships and internships and benefit from tax incentives;
• Promoting economic transformation in order to enable meaningful participation of black people in the economy;
• Increase BBB-EE rating through skills development (learnerships and internships) and enterprise supplier development for supporting start-up businesses.
• We can assist with the process of attaining workplace approval for trade related programmes.

Occupational/Apprenticeships requiring 6 – 36 months placement

Lecturers requiring minimum of 5 non – consecutive days exposure to the workplace

Workplace Exposure

NC(V) Level 2-4 and N5-N6 students requiring a minimum of 5 days work Exposure
