 The following programme offerings are a collaboration between the College and various members of industry. The entry requirements are determined by the industry stakeholder, including the application deadline.

FUNDED TRAINING FOR UNEMPLOYED YOUTH
The CETA SETA in partnership with False Bay TVET College is offering two full-time Civil related funded programmes to unemployed youth who meet the entry requirements and show an interest for Building and Civil  Construction.

BRICKLAYING: Competency Based Modular Training
Entry Requirement:     N2 Certificate in Bricklaying and Plastering trade theory

Programme: WCED Youth Focus Programmes: Spray Painting, Panel Beating and Hospitality
Description:

The Western Cape Education Department has partnered with False Bay TVET College to roll out the Youth Focus Programme.  This intervention is targetted towards Grade 10 learners who are struggling with the mainstream schooling curriculum and run the risk of not progressing to the next grade.

This is a 3 year programme. Each of the 3 levels will consist of an average of 3 months theory and 9 months practical experience in the workplace. Upon the completion of the programme and passing of each Level Test learners will receive their qualification, deemed fit for immediate permanent employment.

How to repair structural damage: dents and rust on vehicles

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be qualified and able to find employment within the automotive repair industry.

 Spray painting:

How to restore surface damage: spray painting, polishing and finishing
Remove, replace and align minor body parts

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be qualified and able to find employment as a Spray painter.

Hospitality:

Table Attendant
Assistant Chef
Hotel Reception
Generic essentials such as personal health, hygiene and workplace safety
Customer Service

Upon successful completion of the programme, learners will be able to find employment in the Hospitality Industry.


Programme: NSF: Solar Water Heating System
Description:

False Bay TVET College in partnership with the National Skills Fund invite unemployed youth between the age of 18-35 with a Grade 11 or 12 certificate to apply. The programme will take 10 weeks to complete and you will have the necessary skills and knowledge to instal solar water heating systems.

Entry Requirements:

Grade 11 or 12
Umemployed as you would need to start training immediately
Between 18-35 years of age

Description:

 Good News! False Bay TVET College now offers a one year full time  2D Animation programme that is fully funded. This programme is offered at the Muizenberg Campus. Programme:  POLISH UP YOUR MICROSOFT EXCEL SKILLS
Description:

False Bay TVET College in partnership with InSETA invite unemployed youth between 18-35 years of age, who are fluent in English and have a professional appearance to apply for this 1 week programme, starting 08 January - 12 January 2018.
If you meet the criteria, you will receive a stipend of R400 for the week. Lunch will be provided

Programme:  Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) programme
Description:

False Bay TVET College in partnership with the Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT) offers a funded Artisan Recognition of Prior Learning (ARPL) programme. Access Assessment and Gap Training that could lead to a full artisan trade qualification.
To participate in the (ARPL) process, apply at False Bay TVET College, Westlake Campus, Decentralized Trade Test Centre.  This programme will run from August 2017 to March 2018.

The (ARPL) process includes:
• Pre-assessment, screening that includes interviews and practical assessment
• Gap training, top-up training up to 6 weeks
• Assistance with compilation of portfolio of evidence, culminating entry for full Trade Test.

Entry Requirements: Interested candidates must meet the minimum verified entrance criteria for entry, based upon DHET Trade Test Regulations:
• Age 19 years or older;
• Minimum 3 years verifiable and relevant work experience in aforementioned trades
Application Information: 11 AUGUST 2017
The application forms must be completed at the False Bay TVET College, Westlake Campus - Decentralised Trade Test Centre, to be considered for the pre-assessment phase.
Required Documents: • Certified copy of your South African Identity Document (I.D).
• Certified copies (proof) of your school education and/or training qualifications (if any).
• Testimonial and/or a Service Letter from your employer (if employed). A letter from your employer should include permission from the company to participate in the programme.
For unemployed or self-employed, verifiable evidence of experience in the relevant disciplines will be required for access to the ARPL Programme.
